Changing the Name Played in Your Default Voicemail Greeting

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for updating the name played in your default voicemail greetings. Please note that this process only changes the name that is played—it does not alter the greeting message itself. If you wish to change your voicemail greetings or revert them to the default settings, refer to Section 2 below.

To Change the Name Played in Your Default Voicemail Greetings:

  1. On your TPX desk phone, press the voicemail button to access your voicemail box.

  2. When prompted, enter your voicemail PIN.

    If you’ve forgotten or do not know your PIN, please submit a support ticket. An IT staff member will assist you with resetting it.

  3. While the automated system reads through the menu options, press the asterisk (*) key at any time to access the Voice Portal options.

  4. Once in the Voice Portal, press 3 to enter the Greetings Menu.

  5. In the Greetings Menu, press 1 to record a new name for your default voicemail greeting.

  6. Record your name as prompted. Press the pound (#) key to end the recording.


Changing Your Voicemail Greeting Messages

To update or revert your voicemail greeting messages, follow the steps below:

  • On your TPX desk phone, press the voicemail button to access your voicemail box.
  • When prompted, enter your voicemail PIN.
    If you’ve forgotten or do not know your PIN, please submit a support ticket. An IT staff member will assist you with resetting it.
  • While the system reads the menu options, do the following:

    • Press 2 to modify your Mailbox Busy Greeting

    • Press 3 to modify your Mailbox No Answer Greeting

  • Within either menu, you have the following options:

    • Press 1 to record a new greeting. Press # to end the recording.

    • Press 2 to play your current greeting.

    • Press 3 to revert to the default greeting, which will use the name recorded in Section 1.


Changing the Name Played in Your Default Voicemail Greeting


    This guide will lead you through the steps to changing the name played in your default voicemail greetings. This will not change the greeting itself, just the name played in your default greetings. In order to change your greetings or revert them to the default greeting please see section 2 of this document.


In Order to Change the Name Played in Your Default Voicemail Greetings

  1. On your TPX desk phone navigate to your voicemail box by pressing the button shown below

  2. When prompted, enter your PIN. If you have forgotten or do not know your PIN please create a support ticket and an IT staff member will assist you in resetting your PIN. 

  3. To navigate to the voice portal options, press the star on your phone at any time while the phone reads through the phone tree.

  4. Once in the voice portal options you reached by pressing star,  press 3 to navigate to the greetings menu options. 

  5. In the greetings menu options press 1 to record a new default greeting name. To end the recording press the # button.
